Mind_ D _Gap is a project under the O’Bay community trust which aims to: A. Promote positive Image of the BAME Youths in the UK and beyond. B. Changing the Narrative about existing norms about BAME Youths and empowering them.
In this project, O”-Bay Community Trust is sub-contracted by O-Regen (the Community Economic Development organisation for adult education in the London Borough of Leyton), the prime contractor with Job Centre Plus and the Department for Work and Pensions. The project is sponsored by the Department for Work and Pensions. It runs from April 2006 to 31 March 2008. Sustainability for Community Economic Developments
This is a capacity building project, sponsored by the Government Office for London (GOL) and the London Borough of Enfield. We support local community organisations and individuals by providing access to training. The trainings aim to enhance the capability, for example by helping organisations and people to get National Vocation Qualifications (Novas). It runs from 3 May 2006 to 31 March 2008. This is a hugely successful supplementary Saturday school for children aged 8 – 15 years. Every Saturday, from 10am to 2 pm, they are taught English, Maths, Science, IT and French at key stages 2 and 3 levels. Continuation of the project is guaranteed until January 2008. We occasionally provide free confidential and impartial immigration advice and services formally funded through the Home Office Challenge fund team and now mainly supported by volunteers. Our volunteers have level 2. At the moment, we usually refer people on, because we are well acquainted with other professional advisers.
